Windsor police arrest alleged serial thief

A 53-year-old man has been charged with a series of break-and-enters.

At least three homes were broken into since the beginning of June. All were in Windsor's west end, and the residents were home and asleep.

Windsor police's Target Base Unit identified a suspect. He was arrested Wednesday on University Avenue by members of the Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) Unit.

The suspect is charged with three counts of break-and-enter with intent to commit an offence, and three counts of wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence. He is also charged with theft under $5,000, and mischief under $5,000.

The man also had warrants active for breach of probation, assault, and mischief under $5,000.

The charges have not been proven in court.
