Fireworks shuttle ridership soars

Transit Windsor is celebrating an 82 per cent increase in ridership on its shuttle bus to the Ford Fireworks over last year.

Between 6 p.m. Monday and 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, 6,200 people took the shuttle bus from Devonshire Mall to the fireworks downtown and back. That's a total of 110 trips on 27 buses.

Transit Windsor buses were free as of 6 p.m. that night. Overall, city service rose by 90 per cent.

Zehrs sponsored the shuttle bus again this year.
