Van stolen from factory lot

Two suspects are facing charges after a brand-new minivan was stolen from the Windsor Assembly Plant.

Officers were called to the factory lot just before 1 p.m. Thursday. They learned a man wearing a safety vest unlawfully entered a factory lot and stole a new, unplated unwrapped vehicle.

Officers with the Windsor Police Target Base Unit quickly found and stopped the van on Chandler Road.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, driving while prohibited (x 2), and breach of probation.

A 36-year-old woman was charged with possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, as well as failure to comply with release order.
