Officers assaulted during road rage investigation

Two people are in custody after a case of alleged road rage in east Windsor.

Police were called to the area of Pillette Road and Wyandotte Street for a collision involving two vehicles.

When they arrived, officers learned that a Chrysler 300 driving northbound on Pillette was allegedly deliberately struck by a Toyota at Ontario Street and after the collision, the driver of the Toyota tried to enter the Chrysler.

Police said the man driving the Chrysler and the woman driving the Toyota were known to each other.

The Chrysler kept driving and the woman got back into her car and chased after it. She then rear-ended the Chrysler causing substantial damage.

The woman then reportedly got out of her vehicle and assaulted a female passenger who was inside the Chrysler.

When officers attempted to arrest the female driver, she struck the officers and tried to take off. After a brief struggle she was placed under arrest.

While officers were arresting the woman, the man who was driving the Chrysler also assaulted an officer. He was also taken into custody.

A 33-year-old man is facing charges of obstructing a police officer, assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

A 24-year-old woman is facing charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault with a weapon, assault, assault of a police officer and resisting arrest.
