Batting cages open at Wilson Park

Improvements to Wilson Park are nearing completion with the opening of new outdoor baseball and cricket batting cages.

The park, next to Adie Knox Arena, has had $1.4 million of improvements over the last two years including a new accessible playground, splash pad, basketball courts and pickleball courts.

"They are great new amenities to the west side of the city. It's the first step of many to come because the reimagining of Adie Knox project is just getting started," said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens.

In 2022, council approved $29 million to transform the park and Adie Knox. Improvements will include a new gym, fitness facilities, and renovations to the ice pad.

"We did widespread public consultation as we tried to hit the mark on these investments both indoor and outdoor. The public asked for these investments, council responded, supported these investments and now you see them together and you see kids enjoying all of the investments that we're making here," said Dilkens.

The tender for the indoor work will go out later this year.
