Amherstburg hosts public parks summit Monday

Amherstburg residents are asked for ideas on what they want to see in public open spaces.

A Park Summit Open House is taking place all day Monday to gather information on what people think should be the future of parks and recreation in the Town.

The open house runs until 8 p.m. at the Libro Centre.

"Amherstburg is at a pivotal moment as we look to the future of our parks and amenities," said Mayor Michael Prue. "Our Park Summit Open House is a unique opportunity for every resident to play a role in shaping the vision for our community's green spaces over the next decade and beyond."

In addition to the open house, residents are urged to complete park surveys and provide their input. The information gathered will be considered for the Town's Parks Master Plan, a vision of outdoor spaces over the next ten to 20 years.

If you can't attend the open house, you can participate and get information on the Town's official website.
