Windsor man charged with kidnapping, threats

Windsor police have arrested a 51-year-old man in connection to an alleged kidnapping.

Officers were called to Marentette Avenue near Tecumseh Road East shortly before 12:30 a.m. Monday, and found a man bleeding from the lip.

The man told police that he had been in an ongoing dispute with the suspect, who picked him up earlier with the idea of discussing the issue. When the two arrived at the suspect's home on Lincoln Road, the victim said he was dragged toward the house, assaulted, threatened, and held against his will.

The victim escaped when the suspect was distracted. He suffered minor injuries.

The suspect was picked up a short time later at his home on Lincoln.

The man is charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement, assault, and uttering death threats.

The charges have not been proven in court.
