21-year-old facing firearm, trafficking charges arrested for violating bail

Windsor Police bail compliance officers have arrested another man for allegedly violating his bail conditions as the Offender Management Unit continues to monitor those at risk of reoffending.

This time, members of the unit accompanied by the OPP-led Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad arrested a 21-year-old man who was granted bail for charges including possession of a restricted firearm, possession of a firearm with no license, occupying a vehicle with a restricted weapon, and trafficking charges.

A judge granted Mohamed Al Kuhaly last November. Officers arrested him at a home on Northway Avenue on Monday.

Al Kuhaly faces four counts of failure to comply with a release order.

The Offender Management Unit, a partnership between Windsor and LaSalle Police Services, only started working in March. It supervises those placed under house arrest, curfew, or electronic monitoring, ensuring those who breach judicial release orders are held accountable.

To report someone not complying with their release conditions, call Windsor Police at 519-255-6700, Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477, or leave a tip online at www.catchcrooks.com.
