The dates are set for the next edition of one of the world's most prestigious auto shows.
The Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) announced its return to a traditional winter program on Tuesday, with the dates finalized for the 2025 North American International Auto Show at Detroit's Huntington Place.
The 2025 dates are January 10 to January 20.
Auto Show Co-Executive Director Rod Alberts said the show returns to what it does best, showing off the latest automotive technology and celebrating Detroit's rich and colourful automotive heritage.
"As we reimagine the show, we’re being agile about scheduling events to meet the needs and preferences of key stakeholders," said Alberts. "OEMs and show partners will have the opportunity to directly reach out to customers with product announcements during the public show or have media- and industry-focused events as in the past."
The show had been presented in September for 2022 and 2023, following a hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 show was cancelled, and the 2021 edition was moved to the suburbs with a different format.
The show kicks off Friday, January 10, with Media Day, with journalists from all over the world given the first look at the offerings. The award presentations for North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year will also take place, followed by the annual auto show luncheon by the Detroit Economic Club.
The star-studded Charity Preview will take place that evening. Tickets go on sale in September, at $400 a person and $700 a couple. Entertainment will be finalized later in the year.
The show is open to the public from Saturday, January 11, to Monday, January 20, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The annual Industry Days will take place during the public show. The Mobility Global Forum and the AutoMobili-D Technical Showcase are scheduled.
New this year is the Future Innovators Program, with over a thousand local high school and post-secondary students invited to the show to learn about career opportunities in the auto industry.
