For the second week in a row, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has closed Sandpoint Beach in Windsor because of high E.Coli counts.
Testing earlier this week found 1,000 parts per 100 mL, the same as one week ago.
The health unit posted warnings at two other beaches. Colchester, closed last week, had an E.coli level of 204. Lakeshore Lakeview Park West Beach has a warning for the second consecutive week. Its level was 275.
Anything over 200 parts per 100 mL is considered unsafe for swimming.
Levels were within acceptable limits at Cedar Beach, Cedar Island Beach, Holiday Beach, Point Pelee North West Beach, and Seacliff Beach.
