Warning posted at one public beach ahead of wet weekend

The forecast calls for rain all weekend, but if you still plan to go to the beach, only one has a warning about high e.coli counts.

The e.coli count in water samples taken from Colchester Beach earlier this week showed a concentration of 313, higher than what is considered safe for swimming.

Over the past couple of weeks, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has closed beaches, but none are closed this week.

The other seven public beaches in the region, Cedar, Cedar Island, Holiday, Lakeshore Lakeview Park West, Point Pelee North West, Sandpoint, and Seacliff, all had e.coli counts between 10 and 79.

The health unit tests the water at each public beach in Windsor-Essex on Wednesday.
