Beginning next week, blue and red box pickup will no longer be a municipal responsibility.
The Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority is reminding residents provincial changes to recycling start next Wednesday, and Circular Materials will assume that responsibility.
Circular Materials will administer recycling programs, and Green For Life Environmental Inc. will provide collection service to residents in Windsor and Essex County.
Residents can call Green For Life at 1-844-415-4351 or WeRecycling@gflenv.com for any issues regarding bins, carts, or collection for new homes or homeowners.
During the transition, the Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority will continue to support red and blue box recycling at its three depots in Windsor, Kingsville, and Essex. Residents can drop recycling materials off at the depots for free.
Since there is no set time for pickup, residents must place their recycling bins at the curb by 6 a.m. on their collection day.
Residents should make sure the materials they put out for collection are accepted by the program. They can reach Circular Materials at 1-877-667-2626, by going to its website, or by emailing customerservice@circularmaterials.ca for English and serviceclientele@circularmaterials.ca for French language support.
