As the new school year quickly approaches, Transit Windsor has reminded students that information is power.
With a week left before fall classes begin, the transit system has launched an information campaign on social media to help students and parents who will be dependent on the service use it to their advantage.
"We understand that getting back to school can be a hectic time for students and their families," said Transit Windsor Executive Director Tyson Cragg. "Our goal with this campaign is to make the transition smoother by providing all the necessary information right at their fingertips."
Transit Windsor has launched its campaign via its official Facebook, Instagram, and X pages. The posts will include information on schedules, stops, and options for fares, all geared toward students.
Specifically, the initiative will help students navigate the website and the app to find the most convenient bus routes to schools in all four of the school boards serving the city, plus St. Clair College and the University of Windsor. Transit Windsor has some route changes that will take effect on Sunday, September 1.
The campaign also focuses on fare options for students, including passes, special student rates, and contactless payment through the app.
