The Ontario NDP caucus is gathered in Windsor Essex this week to connect with the community in preparation for the next legislative session.
Leader Marit Stiles told reporters in a news conference the party has spent the summer getting ready for a potential early election.
"We want to offer a different alternative, a better alternative, give people a reason to hope again. We know Ontarians deserve better and we can deliver better for them," said Stiles.
The province's next fixed election date isn't until June 2026.
Premier Doug Ford ruled out an election this year at a recent news conference but left the door open for an election in 2025.
The Ontario legislature does not sit again until after October 21, 2024.
Windsor-West MPP Lisa Gretzky says the party members will be spending this week connecting with the community.
"To hear first hand the things that I'm hearing about what people are struggling with but also people here have solutions," said Gretzky. "I think it's really important that my entire caucus is here to have those conversations with people in our region in order to take those stories and those solutions back and add those to the solutions that we've already proposed."
