Hwy. 401 crash claims another life

A second person has died following a collision on Highway 401 last month.

The Ontario Provincial Police were called to a crash on August 23 in the westbound lanes between Gracey Side Road and Comber Side Road.

While they were there to investigate, a second collision happened involving two tractor-trailers and a pickup truck.

The driver of one of the tractor-trailers was pronounced dead at the scene.

Paramedics took the driver of the pickup truck to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The OPP say he has since died from his injuries.

Officers continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Anyone with dashcam footage of the collision can contact the Lakeshore OPP Detachment at 1- 888-310-1122.
