One person charged with impaired driving following fatal crash

One person was killed and another was hurt in a two- vehicle collision Saturday.

Just before 11 p.m., Windsor police were called to Lauzon Parkway and Lauzon Line for the report of the crash.

When police arrived on the scene they found a man and a woman lying in the road with injuries.

A pick-up truck allegedly attempted to turn eastbound at the intersection when it collided with a motorcycle that was travelling northbound on Lauzon Parkway.

The 39-year-old male driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The 35-year-old female passenger of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 41-year-old driver of the pick-up truck was arrested and failed a breath test when he arrived at police head quarters.

He faces several charges, including impaired operation of a conveyance causing death and impaired operation of conveyance causing bodily harm.

The investigation is ongoing.
