OPP investigating double fatal crash

Lambton County OPP is investigating a double fatal crash in Brooke-Alvinston.

Police were called to a collision involving a tractor trailer and passenger vehicle at around 1 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Inwood Road and Courtright Line.

Brooke Fire Rescue and Lambton EMS also responded.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 79-year-old Windsor resident, was air-lifted to hospital and later pronounced deceased.  A 77-year-old passenger, also from Windsor, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Inwood Road between Oil Springs Line and McNally Street and Courtright Line between Forest and Sutorville Roads were closed until after 9 p.m.

The collision is still under investigation with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME).
