Another 26 arrests made in Glengarry neighbourhood

Windsor police have conducted another blitz in the Glengarry neighbourhood, arresting 26 people over the weekend.

Between September 12 and 14, the Problem-Oriented Policing Unit made the arrests and laid 48 charges of assault with a weapon, break and enter, theft, possession of stolen property and failing to comply with release orders.

It's the second initiative targeting the Glengarry neighbourhood in less than a month. Officers arrested 24 people over two days in August.

Police launched the initiative in response to concerns from residents and the Windsor Essex Community Housing Corporation.

Police have partnered with Family Services Windsor-Essex and the Canadian Mental Health Association to establish an office space inside the apartment complex at 333 Glengarry Ave.
