Masse ready to work as he returns to House of Commons

Windsor West MP Brian Masse is prepared to make parliament work as members return to the House of Commons this week.

Many predict the country could be heading for a fall election after NDP leader Jagmeet Singh ended the supply and confidence agreement with the Liberal Party two weeks ago.

"I want to go back and still make parliament work. I don't have an ambition to draw an election out," said Masse. "We've just changed the factors as we go back in there because we are no longer going to be in a supply arrangement with the Liberals."

Masse has several goals for the fall term, including, encouraging the Ministry of Transportation to prevent hazardous materials from crossing the Ambassador Bridge and getting his Private Member's Bill to create the Ojibway National Urban Park through the Senate.

"My goal is to go back and control the universe that I can control. To fight hard for Windsor-West and for Windsor and Essex County because on issues like the hazmat I seem to be left alone on these things," said Masse.

Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre has said he would trigger a non-confidence vote at the earliest opportunity.
