Windsor-West MP Brian Masse questioned the Liberal government on allowing hazardous materials across the Ambassador Bridge in the House of Commons Tuesday.
The Michigan Department of Transportation (M-DOT) recently approved a plan to permit additional classes of such material to be transported out of Michigan into Windsor.
"This is bad for the environment, bad for the economy and an unnecessary risk for public safety. The Liberals tried passing the buck to the province – but Doug Ford doesn't care. My community deserves answers and government that stands up for them and not the American billionaire who owns the bridge," said Masse in the House of Commons.
The Minister of Innovation François-Philippe Champagne did not respond directly to Masse's questions about moving hazardous materials on the Ambassador Bridge.
"We have brought generational investment in this town. We have given homes to people, we are providing opportunities, we're providing training for the people. Windsor will be at the centre again of the auto sector and this is thanks to a Liberal government," said Champagne.
