Two arrested in attempted armed robbery on Erie Street East

Windsor Police have two suspects in custody after an attempted robbery after the victim was shot in the neck with a pellet gun.

Early Tuesday morning, the victim was sitting on a park bench on Erie Street East between MacDougall Avenue and Mercer Street when the suspects, one wearing a ski mask, confronted him.

After shooting the victim, the suspects demanded a bag of his personal belongings and threatened to shoot him a second time.

The victim said no, and the suspects left.

His injuries are not life-threatening.

A 19-year-old man is charged with assault with a weapon, robbery with intent to steal, pointing a firearm, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence, failure to comply with a release order, and failure to comply with an undertaking.

A second suspect is 16. Their name won't be released but the teen faces robbery with intent to steal and failure to comply with a release order charges.
