Mother charged in child's drowning

Windsor Police has charged a woman in the drowning of her five-year-old child last week.

Officers recovered the child from the bottom of a backyard pool on Barton Crescent on September 9.

Firefighters attempted to revive the child until paramedics could get to the scene, but despite their efforts, the child was pronounced dead at the hospital.

On Thursday, police charged the child's 25-year-old mother with criminal negligence causing death and failure to provide the necessities of life.
