Suspect arrested, another wanted in Windsor shooting

Windsor police say one person is arrested, and another is sought, in a shooting last week near downtown.

Officers were called on Thursday concerning a shooting that took place on Wednesday night. Police learned that two armed people got into an argument in the area of Glengarry Avenue and Assumption Street East.

The dispute escalated when one of the suspects shot a firearm at the other suspect's vehicle, hitting a door.

The suspect in the vehicle was not hurt.

On Sunday evening, police arrested a 33-year-old man on Assumption Street East and Louis Avenue. He is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of an unauthorized firearm, possession of a restricted or prohibited weapon, and possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Police are looking for the second suspect. He is described as a Black male, about 30 years of age, 5’ 11”, with a slender build and a full beard.
