In an official statement issued Thursday morning, the Board of Directors of the Kingsville Music Festival announced it was suspending the 2025 event.
"We have encountered significant challenges in securing the necessary community support and financial resoures to continue," said the statement.
Executive Director Michele Law responded to an inquiry by WindsorNewsToday.ca, saying, "ticket sales have declined over the past three years."
The cost of producing the event has also risen.
Festival organizers are hopeful future opportunities will arise to continue the tradition.
In the interim, the Kingsville Music Society will redirect its efforts towards the Music and Arts for Youth Fund.
"We have volunteer opportunities year-round to support our MAY Fund, so please don't hesitate to contact us if you would like more information or to get involved," continued the statement.
The festival started in 2014.
