Power outage planned for Tilbury

The entire Town of Tilbury and much of the surrounding rural area will go dark on Sunday, October 6.

Everything from homes to businesses to traffic lights will be affected.

Entegrus warns that over 2,300 customers will be affected by the blackout, which is scheduled to last from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The outage is scheduled so Hydro One can make upgrades to the lines that feed the Tilbury station.

Entegrus has already reached out to commercial, industrial, and critically identified customers, like those who have medical conditions reliant on electricity. An automated phone call will go out to remaining customers by October 3.

If you are an Entegrus customer in the Tilbury area, with your number listed on the account, and you don't receive a call you are encouraged to contact the utility and update your account information.

A list of items recommended for an extended power outage can be found here.
