Windsor man charged with impaired driving in Lakeshore

A 29-year-old man from Windsor is being charged with impaired driving.

Around 12:45 a.m. Saturday morning, an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop along Manning Road in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

The driver ended up being charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired, driving with an open container of liquor, and for being a novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero.

The vehicle also didn’t have a proper rear light which resulted in another charge.

The man was given a 90-day licence suspension, while his vehicle will be impounded for seven days.

He will appear in an Ontario courtroom in Windsor on Oct. 9, 2024.
