Windsor man hits it big with $50,000 prize

A regular lottery player struck gold with an instant ticket.

Pietro Gervasi recently stopped by the store to pick up an Instant $50K Casino scratch-off ticket, and revealed the top prize of $50,000.

Gervasi picked up his prize this week at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

"I was playing my ticket and thought I had won $50," said Gervasi. "My wife and I took a second look at my ticket in better lighting. It was then that we saw the rest of the zeros. I couldn’t believe it! I had never won a big prize before. Winning certainly brings you happiness."

Gervasi has been playing the lottery for over 40 years and enjoys a variety of games.

He plans to travel and pay off some bills with the winnings.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Metro store on Howard Avenue in Windsor.
