Teen dies in fatal crash in Essex

A teenager was killed when he was struck by a vehicle in the Town of Essex.

Members of Essex OPP and Essex-Windsor EMS responded to a collision on County Road 18 near Britton Road just before 7 a.m.

The 16-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene.

West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team are actively conducting the investigation.

OPP said more information will be released once it becomes available.

*A previous version of this story said the teen was struck on County Road 8. The Ontario Provincial Police have revised their statement to read County Road 18.
