Windsor man charged in child exploitation probe

A 24-year-old man has been arrested as the result of a Windsor police investigation into child exploitation.

Investigators from the Windsor police's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit became aware this week of a situation involving potential child sex trafficking, using information provided by the U.S. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. An attempt of potential child sexual abuse was reported to police by a social media company.

A warrant was obtained and the suspect was found on Tuesday in the area of Wyandotte Street East and Langlois Avenue. The man was arrested and electronic devices were seized.

Jake Tuer of Windsor has been charged with making child pornography and using a computer to solicit sex with a minor.

The charges have not been proven in court.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call the Windsor police's ICE Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4896. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
