Local power workers head to Florida to help with Hurricane Milton aftermath

As Florida residents recover from Hurricane Milton, local power workers will help restore their power.

E.L.K. Energy has deployed two powerline maintainers. However, Board Chair Sherry Bondy said she knew of other power workers from Entegrus, Bluewater Power, ERTH Power, and Essex Powerlines who were going too.

"E.L.K. Energy has benefited from the support of other utilities during our own challenges in the past, so it is only fitting that we extend a helping hand in return," she said.

Bondy is confident the crew from E.L.K. Energy is well-prepared for the challenges in Florida.

Hurricane Milton hit landfall Wednesday night just south of Tampa, but more than three million residential and business customers lost power.
