The Windsor Police Service took two impaired drivers off the road in separate incidents.
At approximately 7 p.m., Saturday, police were called after a vehicle struck a pole at the intersection of Everts Avenue and Algonquin Street.
When officers arrived on the scene they located a red sedan with severe damage to its front end parked in the middle of the street.
Police spoke to the 21-year-old male and detected a strong odour of alcohol, slurred speech and other signs of impairment.
According to investigators, several empty or partially empty bottles of alcohol were scattered throughout the vehicle.
The driver was charged with impaired driving.
Four hours later police attended the intersection Edward Avenue and Raymond Avenue where a suspected impaired driver had struck a parked vehicle.
Officers spoke to a 33-year-old man who had a strong odour of alcohol on his breath and was unsteady on his feet.
The driver was arrested and taken to police headquarters.
The Windsor Police Service is taking part in Operation Impact, an annual traffic enforcement initiative that is conduced on the Thanksgiving long weekend.
