The Windsor Spitfires are once again back in the win column.
They hosted the Oshawa Generals on Thanksgiving Monday, winning 5-2.
The game didn’t start well for the Spitfires as they trailed 2-0 after the first period.
Beckett Sennecke, the 3rd overall pick from the 2024 NHL draft, opened the scoring with his 1st of the season. Luke Torrance would get Oshawa’s second goal.
The Spitfires would outshoot Oshawa 15-8 in the period. This would continue in the second with Windsor getting another 18 shots with one finding the back of the net from Ilya Protas. It was his team leading 6th of the year.
The third period is where the Spitfires’ showed why they have one of the best records in the OHL.
Ryan Abraham, Conor Walton, Noah Morneau, and Liam Greentree each found the back of the net.
Throughout the game, the Spitfires outshot Oshawa 50 to 17.
With the win, Windsor’s record improves to 6-1-1-0, while Oshawa moves to 2-5-1-0.
The Spitfires' next game is on Friday, October 18 on the road against the Guelph Storm.
