Suspect arrested in a string of storage unit break-ins

Windsor police say a 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of break-and-enters.

Officers responded to a string of break-ins between September 27 and October 4. Six storage units at two different locations were affected.

"In each incident, a suspect broke into the storage unit and stole a variety of personal items, including electronic products, women’s accessories, tools, and outdoor equipment," read a release from Windsor police.

Officers with the Target Base Unit identified the suspect and recovered many of the stolen items. The man was arrested on Wednesday in the area of Lauzon Road and Tranby Avenue.

He is charged with six counts of break-and-enter to commit an offence, and four counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000.

The charges have not been proven in court.

The suspect is also wanted by the Durham Regional Police and the York Regional Police for various offences.
