Marathon participant dies after medical emergency

One person has died following a collapse during the Detroit Free Press Marathon.

Organizers said the 57-year-old man collapsed near mile 5 in Windsor.

He was taken to hospital but was later pronounced dead.

"We at the race are saddened by this news and our hearts and condolences are with his family," organizers said.
