The City of Windsor has received a boost from the provincial government to support active recreation for young people.
The provincial government's After School Program has provided the City with $146,863, to help deliver recreation programs at community centres.
Windsor-Tecumseh MPP Andrew Dowie said the government is fully committed to promoting healthy living for children and young adults.
"The City of Windsor has been a trusted partner of fun, safe and supervised activities for children and youth through inclusive team sports and active recreation programs for decades," said Dowie. "I’m delighted that our government is supporting Windsor in bringing even more opportunities for youth to have fun and build their skills here in our community."
Queens Park has committed $14.6 million for the After School Program provincewide during the 2024-25 school year.
Windsor operates after-school programs at seven venues, which can be found on the City's official website.
