Shotguns, ammunition seized by Windsor police

Windsor police have arrested a man following an investigation that uncovered an assortment of shotguns.

Members of the Drugs and Guns Enforcement Unit (DIGS) obtained a search warrant for a house on Caron Avenue near Park Street West. It was executed on Thursday evening with help from the Emergency Services Unit.

A Remington 12-gauge shotgun, a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun, a Hopkins and Allen 12-gauge shotgun, a 12-gauge shotgun of an unknown make, and several rounds of ammunition, were all confiscated.

A 37-year-old man has been charged with four counts of possession of a firearm without a licence, four counts of possession of a shotgun while prohibited, four counts of unsafe storage of a firearm, one count of possession of ammunition while prohibited, and one count of failure to comply with a release order.

The charges have not been proven in court.
