LaSalle mourns passing of former firefighter

Funeral services are set for an 11-year veteran of the LaSalle Fire Service.

The Town of LaSalle said Robert "Bob" Price will be remembered with a full Line of Duty Death funeral on Thursday. Price passed away on Saturday at the age of 64.

"His passion for the job continued on into his retirement, attending emergency scenes and documenting with photographs," read the obituary from Families First Funeral Home. "Bob was a dedicated member of the Windsor Police Pipe Band for over a decade, where he could celebrate his love of music, tradition, and culture with his friends and family. As an entrepreneur, he opened his own successful business as a home inspector, which served him and his beautiful family for nearly two decades."

LaSalle Fire Chief Ed Thiessen said Price had a knack for making everyone feel at home.

"He embodied the true spirit of camaraderie and teamwork that defines the LaSalle Fire Service," said Thiessen. "His contributions, dedication, and commitment to serving LaSalle will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with Bob's family during this difficult time."

Visitation will be on Wednesday at Families First on Dougall Avenue in Windsor from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., then from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A firefighter walk-by will take place at 7 p.m.

The memorial service will be on Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
