Police investigating downtown stabbing

Windsor police have arrested one suspect and are looking for another in connection to a stabbing in downtown Windsor Monday night.

Just after 10:30 p.m., police were called to an assault in progress near Pelissier Street and Erie Street. Officers found a 38-year-old man with stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators learned the victim had a verbal argument with the two people. The suspects then allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times and struck him with a metal pole.

On Tuesday, officers arrested one suspect who will face assault and weapons charges.

The second suspect is still outstanding. Police have not released the name or physical description of the outstanding suspect. The individual is wanted on charges of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
