The Windsor Essex County Association of Realtors reports a big jump in the number of homes sold in October.
Housing sales were up 19.63 per cent last month compared to October 2023. A total of 1,029 homes sold, compared to 934 one year ago.
So far this year, sales are up 11.76 per cent, which is impressive given that sales were up 8.48 per cent last month, flat in August, and down the previous four months.
Those looking for a new home paid on average almost $50,000 more than they did a year ago.
The average price in October was $579,765, $49,493 more than the average price that month in 2023, a 9.33 per cent increase.
The price a year ago was $530,272.
So far this year, prices have climbed 2.83 per cent.
That's good news for anyone who put their home on the market, and more people did in October. Listings increased by 10.17 per cent from last October, when for sale signs went up in front of 934 properties compared to 1,029 last month.
The increase was 11.76 per cent year-to-date.
Currently, there are 1,735 properties for sale across the region.
