Sparky's Toy Drive registration starts this weekend

Sparky's Toy Drive is starting registration this weekend for families who need extra help this holiday season.

Each year, Windsor Professional Firefighters volunteer their time to help collect and organize the toy drive for children 13 and younger.

New unwrapped toys can be dropped off at all local fire stations and Toys R Us. Sparky's also accepts monetary donations, which are used to buy toys.

Families must register with the toy drive to receive a donation. To register, families must provide the parent's ID, proof of residence, health cards or birth records of the children they are registering, and documentation showing their total family income.

Three registration dates are set this year. The first is on Saturday, November 16. Families in need can come to Forest Glade Arena from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Registration will continue at the Gino and Liz Marcus Complex from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 17.

Finally, on November 23, registration will occur at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital from 9 a.m. to noon.

This year, they expect to deliver toys to over 3,000 kids.
