The president of Stellantis Canada is confident a third shift could be added at the Windsor Assembly Plant in 2025.
The electric Dodge Charger, the latest vehicle to be built at the plant, will hit dealerships in 30-45 days.
"We're very confident between this product, the Pacificas that we build there today that we're going to have a lot of demand, not just in Canada but across the US as well. We'll make that decision here soon, once we get the vehicle launched, we're confident we can get a third shift there at some point in 2025," said Jeff Hines, President of Stellantis Canada.
Hines spoke at the Windsor Chamber of Commerce's Annual General Meeting on Wednesday.
He told the attendees hiring will also continue at the NextStar Energy plant where 500 employees have already been hired.
