Driver sought in single-vehicle crash in Tecumseh

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are looking for a driver who ran from the scene of a weekend collision in Tecumseh.

It happened around 3 p.m. Sunday on Lanoue Street near Ryegate Drive. Officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision.

When they arrived on the scene, an SUV was seen on its side, having struck a parked vehicle.

Police say the driver of the SUV ran away from the scene. An extensive search of the immediate area did not locate them. Investigators soon learned that the SUV was recently reported stolen from a location in Windsor.

The driver is described as a White male, about 5' 9", wearing dark clothing.

Residents and business owners are asked to check any security camera footage from Sunday afternoon and contact police if they notice anything unusual.

Anyone with information should call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
