ESHC welcomes return of pediatrics with a seasonal clinic

Erie Shores Healthcare (ESHC) has announced the addition of a pediatrician after 30 years without one.

The Leamington hospital has added Dr. Olusegun Oyedeji, who will operate a pediatric clinic two evenings a week, effective immediately.

It's the first time in three decades that the hospital will have pediatric services on site.

"The addition of Dr. Oyedeji and the establishment of the after-hours pediatric clinic highlights our commitment to providing comprehensive, accessible healthcare for families in our community," said ESHC President and CEO Kristin Kennedy.

Dr. Oyedeji most recently practiced pediatric medicine at the Fort St. John Specialist Clinic in British Columbia. A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC), he is also affiliated with the Northern Medical Program at the University of British Columbia.

Oyedeji will also support the hospital's maternity and obstetrics department.

The new clinic will provide options for pediatric care during respiratory illness season and help ease pressure on the hospital's emergency department.

The clinic is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., through March 31, 2025.
