Two arrested for impaired driving over the weekend

Windsor police charged two motorists with impaired driving over the weekend.

Officers were called to the intersection of George Avenue and St. Julien Avenue around 9 p.m. Sunday. When they got there they found a woman asleep at the wheel with her foot on the break. There were two young children, aged three and nine months, in the back seat.

The 31-year-old was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding the legal blood alcohol concentration.

In a separate incident, police arrested a 30-year-old after a three-vehicle crash in Amherstburg. It happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Alma Street and Balaclava Street. Officers reported the driver hit a parked car causing a chain reaction involving a third vehicle.

No one was injured.

The driver was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding the legal blood alcohol concentration.
