Windsor police conducting active investigation in Ford City

A section of Windsor's Ford City neighbourhood has been cordoned off due to what Windsor police have only described as an "active investigation".

Few details have been released, but an increased presence of officers has been seen in an area bounded by Walker Road, Edna Street, St. Luke Road, and Richmond Street. The first social media post came shortly after 8 a.m. Monday.

The Windsor police's mobile command centre is in the area.

As of noon Monday, the area is still blocked off.

Police say there is no threat to public safety, but people have been asked to stay away.
