Chamber of Commerce announces partnership with Downtown Mission

Members of the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce (WERCC) will benefit from a partnership supporting a worthy cause.

The Chamber on Tuesday announced that it is teaming up with the Downtown Mission, to provide its members with discounts on the Mission's merchandise line while helping support the Mission's efforts to help the area's vulnerable and less fortunate.

"A key part of the Chamber’s role is to serve the community, not just the business community," said WERCC Interim CEO Tony Haddad. "This partnership provides benefits for the Chamber’s members while also providing value to the Downtown Mission, so it profits both parties and furthers the Chamber’s commitment to our community."

Chamber members will now have a chance to use the Mission Promotional Products program for a discount. Members will benefit from the savings while the Mission benefits from the 100 per cent return it will get on the proceeds.

"Mission Promotional Products is part of the Enterprise Program of The Downtown Mission," said Downtown Mission Director of Business Operations Maurizio Tiberia. "The Enterprise program provides job readiness training and on-the-job placements within the organization and community to progress our clients that have graduated from the Phoenix rehabilitation program. We also provide the program for other community partner programs.”

Three full-time and three part-time employees, all from the Phoenix rehab program, work with the product line, which can be seen on its official website.
