Retired Windsor police dog passes away

Windsor Police are mourning the passing of a retired police dog.

K9 officer Hasko passed away on November 22, 2024.

He was only a few months into his retirement after serving the community for over nine years.

During his career, Hasko became Windsor’s first explosive detection canine. The police didn’t say how many cases he helped on, only stating it was countless.

“Hasko will always be remembered for his unwavering bravery, remarkable contributions, and dedication to keeping our community safe. His courage in the face of danger and his lasting impact on our service will never be forgotten,” read a statement from Windsor Police.

Hasko’s handler was Constable Ken Meloche. He has since partnered with K9 officer Ghost.
