School buses filled with Christmas donations

Nine local Catholic elementary schools helped fill school buses with donations for the St. Vincent de Paul food bank and the Children's Aid Society.

Students and staff from H.J. Lassaline, Our Lady of the Annunciation, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Sacred Heart, St. André, St. Anne French Immersion, St. Mary, St. Pius X and W.J. Langlois participated in the Santa School Bus drive.

"All of our students over the last couple of weeks in those nine schools have been collecting all these different items. Our school is loading 5,000 different non-perishable items today," said Pam Prsa, principal at St. Pius X Elementary School.

All of the items were loaded onto school buses to be brought to the charities.

"I think this is amazing, this is one school, we've never collected this much from one school. It's crazy," said Judy Steinhoff, a bus driver who volunteered her services for the transport.

This is the 10th annual charity drive organized by this group of schools.
