Sparky's Toy Drive receives van loads of donations

Employees at the Windsor Assembly Plant delivered vans full of toy donations to Sparky's Toy Drive Wednesday.

This year's campaign will support 3,000 children in Windsor from around 1,200 families.

"This is our biggest partner in the area, by far, and the donations that they have contributed this year will help support the 3,000 kids we have this year. Every year the number goes up, it doesn't go down," said Cody Long, co-lead of this year's campaign.

The Windsor Firefighters and volunteers work year-round to organize the toy drive.

"We service ages 0-13 years old. We have a dedicated team of volunteers that sort this stuff year round and we make sure that a seven-year-old boy's toy gets to a seven-year-old boy," said Long. "We try to get some information from the families in need when they register as to what their family dynamic looks like."

Family registration for the drive happened in November and most of the toys have already been delivered.
