Windsor police seek trio in violent home invasion

Windsor police are looking for three people who allegedly forced their way into a home with weapons.

Officers were called just before 9 p.m. Sunday to a home on Bruce Avenue near Shepherd Street West in Windsor where they learned that three people, two of them armed, bothered a man walking to the back door of his home.

The suspects hit the man in the head with a firearm and forced their way inside, where cell phones and cash were taken. They then fled in an SUV-type vehicle.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Three children who were in the home at the time were not hurt.

The first suspect is described as a Black male, 5’ 10”, with a large build. At the time of the incident, he wore a ski mask, green coat, and black pants.

The second suspect is described as a White or mixed-ethnicity male. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

The third suspect is described as a female. She wore a ski mask, a light grey hooded sweatshirt, and grey pants.

Residents and business owners in the neighbourhood are asked to check any security camera footage from Sunday between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and call Windsor police if they notice anything unusual.
